INTERIOR DESIGN TRENDS

All you need to know about what is trending and what is here to stay!

At Elite we are all about creating spaces that are comfortable, functional, and sustainable. The focus is on creating a sense of balance and harmony in the home, with an emphasis on natural materials, appropriate colours, and thoughtful layouts.

This year the trend that is gaining popularity is the use of natural materials. Wood, stone, and other natural elements are being used to create a sense of warmth and connection to the outdoors. This can be seen in the use of wooden flooring, stone countertops, and natural fibres in textiles. The use of natural materials not only adds visual interest to a space but also makes it feel more inviting and comfortable.

This year, we will see a move away from soft soothing shades and moving towards bold but natural tones. The trends focus on creating richness and drama with warm tones captured from earth.

Some of the colours that are look to be popular include:

It’s worth noting that these colours are not mutually exclusive and can be combined in different ways to create a cohesive and aesthetic design, depending on the space and personal preference. These colours create a sense of calm and serenity, making them perfect for bedrooms and bathrooms, and living area within HMO's, SAs. In BTL's and own houses these colours can be limited to artwork and furniture.

In 2023, we will also see an emphasis on thoughtful layouts. The focus will be on creating spaces that are functional and easy to use. This can be seen in the use of open floor plans, which make it easy to move around and interact with others. Additionally, we will see an increase in the use of built-in storage, which helps to maximise space and minimise clutter.

Sustainability is also a major growing consideration in interior design. As more and more people become conscious of the environment, we will see an increase in the use of eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient appliances. This can include things like bamboo flooring, LED lighting, and low-flow shower heads. By incorporating sustainable elements into your design, you can not only help to reduce your/ your business carbon footprint but also create a space that is both beautiful and functional.

We are seeing an increased use of technology in interior design. Smart home technology is becoming more and more popular, and it is expected that we will see an increase in the use of things like smart lighting in communal areas, thermostats (controlled by owner), and appliances. This technology not only makes it easier to control your home environment but also helps to create a more efficient and comfortable space.

In conclusion, interior design trends today are all about creating spaces that are comfortable, functional, and sustainable. We will see an emphasis on natural materials, colours, and thoughtful layouts. Additionally, we will see an increase in the use of sustainable elements and technology. By incorporating these trends into your design, you can create a space that is beautiful, functional, and environmentally friendly.
